- Lyon have lost only one of their opening ten league matches and have won three of their last four

- Both teams have scored in five of the last six meetings, the exception being last season’s 6-0 home win for Lyon
Lively Lyon can stretch their unbeaten run
Lyon fell out of the traps in Ligue 1, winning only one of their opening six assignments, but they looked more like their former selves prior to the international break and are worth backing to win at Angers.
Lyon have risen to fifth in the table having won three of their last four league fixtures, which includes claiming the scalps of Monaco and fierce rivals St Etienne, and a reproduction of either of those performances would be good enough to claim maximum points here.
The front three of Memphis Depay, Karl Toko Ekambi and Moussa Dembele – they also have Tinotenda Kadewere and Maxwell Cornet in reserve – is beginning to blossom and the goals are starting to flow with them having hit the net nine times in their last four outings.
However, defensive frailties persist for Lyon and clean sheets have been hard to come by. Both teams have scored in eight of Lyon’s ten Ligue 1 games this season, which includes each of the last six.
Both teams have scored in five of the last six meetings between this pair too, so the trend is likely to continue.
Angers have failed to score only twice in ten league outings this term and were even on target in the 6-1 defeat to PSG in October.
With that in mind, we predict a consolation for Angers and are opting for a 2-1 away win – Lyon have won each of their last three meetings with Angers, two of which were by that scoreline.
