The Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth Humane Society is inviting residents to sign up for some fundraising events this November.
One of the events, The Great Catsby, held on November 14th, will feature a wine tasting experience in the comfort of your own home and will be accompanied by a virtual demonstration from a sommelier.
Held in partnership with the Vine Agency and Robert Miller and sponsored by Woodstock Brothers, each registration will include a wine package that features a Mosole Pinot Grigio from Italy, a Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, a Cave Spring Pinot Noir from Niagara, and a McManis Petit Sirah from California.
The attending online sommelier will guide each of the participants in the essential skills to become a master of wine.
Packages start from $40 for four-ounce samples and go up to $150 for full 24-ounce bottles. The proceeds will go towards the medical needs and care of the animals at the Stratford Perth Humane Society.
If you would like to register for this event, you can visit The Great Catsby website.
If wine does not pique your interest, however, the Wags & Wagers online poker tournament will be held on November 20th. This friendly game will give participants the chance to receive a minimum grand prize of $500.
Hosted in partnership with Heffner Lexus, the winner will receive a prize worth 20 per cent of the total purse, with the remaining amount going towards the support of vulnerable animals in the care of the Kitchener Waterloo Humane Society.
Registration is $50, and you can sign up at the Wags & Wagers website.
“Given the restrictions on social gatherings, we haven’t been able to hold many of the in-person fundraising events that we’ve held in past years. As a result, our fundraising efforts have been hit hard this year, but the vulnerable animals in our communities still need our help, now more than ever,” said Kathrin Delutis, Executive Director.
