Nando’s in Red Deer temporarily closed, government restrictions come into effect

One Red Deer restaurant has temporarily closed, as new restrictions have come into effect for businesses in Alberta.

A sign on the door of the Nando’s restaurant on Gaetz Avenue says the business has temporarily closed – the Nando’s website says some of its restaurants have temporarily closed due to COVID-19.

This past Tuesday, Premier Jason Kenney ordered a shutdown of all in-person dining at restaurants and bars starting Sunday, Dec. 13 to try to flatten the rising curve of COVID-19 cases in the province.

In addition to closing in-person dining at restaurants and bars, the restrictions focus on closing lounges, casinos and bingo halls.

Indoor recreation facilities, fitness centres, pools, spas, gyms, studios and indoor rinks will be also be shut down. Outdoor skating rinks and ski hills are allowed to stay open.
