Gonzaga versus Kansas leads the card for college basketball on Thanksgiving, with what could be a preview of a Final Four or National Championship. These two teams are used to having some of the best teams in college basketball, and this year is no different.
The Bulldogs come in ranked No. 1 in the nation and only got better with Andrew Nembhard having his waiver granted. The Jayhawks don’t have the depth of the Bulldogs but do feature one of the nation’s best players in Marcus Garrett.
College basketball will be different this season without the loud, packed gyms that both of these teams usually play in front of.
Kansas Jayhawks Betting Preview: Big Opportunity in First Game
The Jayhawks always have plenty of talent, but the losses from last year are significant, even for Bill Self and company. Devon Dotson and Udoka Azubuike are gone, and their offensive productivity will need to be replaced.
Everything will run through Garrett, who had to play second fiddle to Dotson last year. Expect his numbers to increase significantly with Dotson no longer taking most of the shots.
Bryce Thompson is a highly regarded freshman who should step in and start right away. He will get a welcome to college basketball right away as he faces one of the best and deepest backcourts in all of college basketball against Gonzaga.
David McCormick will be asked to do more inside with the departure of Azubuike. McCormick is solid but will need someone to develop behind him if the Jayhawks team wants another Big 12 title.
Gonzaga Bulldogs Betting Preview: High Expectations
The Bulldogs are absolutely loaded. Even without Filip Petrusev, this Gonzaga team is going to be tough for opponents to deal with. Corey Kispert is going to be in National Player of the Year contention, and this backcourt has five guards that could legitimately start at any school in the nation.
The big question is, how does Mark Few get everyone in the backcourt enough minutes. Nembhard, Jalen Suggs, Joel Ayayi, Aaron Cook, and Dominick Harris will all play, but how the minutes get distributed probably depends on the matchup. I expect a lot of three-guard looks for Gonzaga this year.
Kispert will be joined by Drew Timme upfront in the starting lineup. If Timme can take another step after a solid freshman season, this Bulldogs team should be the front runner for the national title.

Free Betting Pick
I like Gonzaga to win the game, but I think this number is about perfect. Gonzaga is the better team, but Kansas will be able to hang with them.
However, the bet here on the spread is to go with Gonzaga. This is a deep team that will be able to withstand the talent of Kansas.
It will be close, but the Bulldogs will pull ahead late and cover the spread.
