Facebook claims it has joined hands with many tech giants to
help people easily transfer data between online services, using the Data
Transfer Project tool. The project was initiated last year and since then
it has invited many giants like Apple, which is known for having a closed

Facebook has already published in the early quarters of last year a white paper where it has addressed multiple privacy issues that might unearth while building such tools.
In this project, Facebook’s online photo transfer tool sends a copy of all the photos to Google Photos. It also works well for videos. This tool is based on the code that is co-developed by the companies that are a part of this project. All the data is encrypted before being sent, and Facebook seeks the account password before initiating the transfer.

Usually, people capture photos and videos using their phones,
and the data automatically gets synced to Google Photos, unless they instruct
it otherwise. From Google Photos, they share their content to social media
services, including Instagram and Facebook.
Under these circumstances, while the tool does sound promising,
