NFL Betting – Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

A crucial battle in the NFC hits the Monday Night Football stage when the Los Angeles Rams visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Coming off a win over division-leading Seattle, the Rams can move into a share of first-place in the NFC West with a win. Meanwhile, the Bucs are battling with New Orleans for supremacy in the NFC South, rebounding from a disastrous loss to the Saints with a payout last week over Carolina. We probably won’t see a shootout like we did last season between these clubs with both having a top-5 defense, but you never know. The Bucs opened as a 3-point favorite with the total at 49. is offering a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1600).

Odds Analysis

Early action on the Bucs forced a spike in the line to -4. Since sweeping the NFC East in their first five games, the Rams have gone 2-2 SU and ATS. They rebounded from a loss at Miami in Week 8 with a 23-16 payout win over Seattle. LA held the league’s No. 1 scoring offense to a season-low point total while cashing the UNDER for a sixth straight game. Overall the Rams have played below the total in seven of their nine games. As long as the Bucs don’t have to play the Saints they are a good bet. Against everyone else they are 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS, including last week’s 46-23 win over Carolina that came after a 38-3 loss to New Orleans in primetime. Overall the Bucs are 7-3 SU and 5-5 ATS while cashing the OVER in three of their last four outings.

Los Angeles Rams

This isn’t the high-flying team that reached the Super Bowl a few seasons ago. Jared Goff has been respectable and the running back by committee approach has worked enough for the Rams to rank seventh in total yards and eighth in rushing. Getting all those yards is nice, but the Rams haven’t been able to cash them into points on a consistent basis. Since beating Washington 30-10 in Week 5, they haven’t scored more than 24 points while averaging just 20 points per game.

Goff threw for 302 yards against Seattle, his second straight 300-yard game, but went without a touchdown pass for the first time since the opener. He’s thrown for 2,447 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions and will be without blindside protector Andrew Whitworth, who sustained a knee injury last week. “I’m not going to make any excuses about the offense. We’re just going to go to work and focus on getting better. We’re getting enough yards but not enough points,” Sean McVay said.

LA’s second-ranked total defense and third-ranked pass defense will be tested by Tampa’s cadre of playmakers. The Rams did a number on Russell Wilson last week forcing him into three turnovers, recording six sacks and holding him without a touchdown pass for the first time this season. Led by Aaron Donald, who has 9.0 sacks, the Rams enter Week 11 with the third-most sacks in the NFL.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs completely dominated Carolina last week in a fashion most would expect. The offense was on fire racking up 544 yards and the defense clamped down allowing less than 200 total yards. It was quite a difference from the previous two outings where Tampa was knocked around by the Saints and barely beat the Giants, 25-23, on Monday night in Week 8.

The addition of Antonio Brown makes the passing game more lethal. AB caught seven of eight targets last week while Mike Evans and Chris Godwin each had six receptions. One week after throwing three picks and completing 57.9 percent of his throws, Tom Brady was terrific going 28 of 39 for 341 yards with three touchdowns. Ronald Jones had a career-best 192 rushing yards, including a 98-yard scamper, making him the third-leading rusher in the NFL. Scoring an average of nearly 30 points has the Bucs sixth in the NFL.

Like the Rams it’s been the defense that’s sparked Tampa. The group threw a blanket over the Panthers last week holding them to just 187 total yards. Tampa is tops against the run allowing 76.6 yards per game and third overall. Take out the two games against New Orleans where they were outscored 72-26 and the Bucs are scoring 33.8 points while allowing just 19.3

Both teams come into this matchup off impressive wins and I can see the Rams being better on offense. I don’t see how they can cover all the weapons in Tampa’s passing game, though. This isn’t going to be a shootout like last year with a pair of vastly improved defenses, but I do like the Bucs and their advantage with Brady to get a payout win that goes below the total.

NFL Score Prediction: Buccaneers 26, Rams 21
