PokerGO’s live events will be back this year. Mori Eskandani, the company’s new president said their major events, studio shows, and productions will return during the second half of this year, after they were cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
PokerGO is a poker subscription video service launched in 2017. Users pay $10 a month to enjoy high-quality tournament coverage and catch their favorite poker shows on TV. Since its launch, the company has continued to produce fresh poker content, attracting more subscribers.
PokerGO also entered into deals which allowed it to acquire the rights to previously aired shows, such as High Stakes Poker and Poker After Dark, both of which originally aired on GSN and NBC respectively. Eskandani said that PokerGO will broadcast new episodes of the said shows this year, as they remain optimistic that COVID-19 restrictions will eventually be relaxed during the second half of the year.
The coming months will be the busiest for the team, and they expect the cameras to keep on rolling throughout the year so poker fans around the world are able to catch up with what they missed last year as a result of the pandemic.
PokerGO Gears Up for Upcoming Hellmuth vs Negreanu HU Match
Among the exciting events that PokerGo will bring to poker spectators and enthusiasts worldwide this year is the highly-anticipated heads-up match between two of the biggest names in the world of poker, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. The pair will battle it out on High Stakes Duel which will be broadcast exclusively on PokerGo in mid-March.
Moving in the Right Direction
The US online gambling campaign has been gathering steam over the past few months, especially with the election of Joe Biden to the US presidency and the latest ruling on the Wire Act case. More states are also moving towards legalizing the practice, with Michigan being the latest to launch a regulated online gambling market.
These recent developments are positive news for the poker industry in general, and Eskandani believes now is the right time to work harder and do more so that poker gets another push and will be able to keep pace with the other gaming verticals.
