Hamilton helped us land a nice 4/5 winner on Saturday and I’m heading back to the card market for Sunday’s marquee match in Ligue 1.
PSG vs Lyon (Sunday, 20:00)
The standout match-up in the latest set of Ligue 1 fixtures comes from the Parc des Princes on Sunday night as PSG lock horns with Lyon.
Thomas Tuchel’s star-studded side stuttered at the start of the season but they have since found their rhythm and climbed back to the summit of the French top flight.
However, the Parisians face a stern test in the French capital on Sunday night when they play host to in-form Lyon.
Rudi Garicia’s charges have won their last four on the bounce and a fifth successive win here would see them leapfrog PSG in the Ligue 1 standings.
Paris Saint-German and Lyon have thrown up some fiery fixtures over the past few years and another closely-fought battle looks likely on Sunday night.
Both sides are averaging over two cards per games this term and given how freely cards have been flowing in France this season I’m happy to side with the above-mentioned betting angle.
PSG have suffered from sustained bouts of ill-discipline this season – they have racked up 20+ booking points in six of their last eight matches in all competitions – and they welcome a Lyon side that have surpassed the over one card line in each of their last seven Ligue 1 assignments.
What’s more, referee Beniot Bastien doesn’t tend to hold back when it comes to getting the book out – the French whistler is averaging five cards per game across all competitions this season – and it’s worth noting that he flashed 11 cards in the Europa League last Thursday night, three of which were red.
When digging slightly deeper it can be seen that the over one card play for each team has landed on the last two occasions that these two heavyweights have gone toe-to-toe and I see no reason to oppose a repeat during this crunch capital clash.
