Lakers/Rockets Under 219.5 (-110): I absolutely cannot stand NBA unders, but they have been on such a winning streak that I can no longer ignore them. This total has not been very affected by that recent history although only one game out of three so far has been over 219 in this series. I expect the under trend to continue with the Lakers playing their style of basketball and finishing off this series sooner than later.
Chiefs/Texans Over 53 (-110): I always want to bet on Patrick Mahomes, like so many others, but this spread is just too big for me to take the Chiefs. The under/over however is much more intriguing, and I’m expecting a lot of points from Deshaun Watson and Mahomes. I’m banking on the NFL starting its season with a shootout.
Braves/Nationals Over 10.5 (-110): When these two teams met last week, they averaged over 13 runs per game in a four game series (and two of them were only seven innings). The Braves, who are coming off of a 29 run offensive output yesterday, are facing a struggling Austin Voth (8.26 ERA) to add to that narrative. The 29 runs the Braves put up yesterday will probably go unmatched for quite some time, and I’m expecting this game to go over 10.5 as well. Robbie Erlin for the Braves has also struggled as of late, making this over even sweeter.
UAB/Miami Over 54 (-110): I’m going to refer to this one as “The Paris Special,” as my degenerate college football betting friend has guaranteed that this game will go over. After winning a shootout in their opener, I expect UAB to struggle to keep Miami under 40 so I am indeed rolling with the over.
Lakers ML -5 (-110): I usually don’t like to bet two things on the same game but I think this one was too good to pass up. The Lakers look like they have gained full control of this series, and I expect LeBron James and Anthony Davis to show up in a big way again tonight. I also love betting against Russell Westbrook because 80% of the time it’s the most fun thing ever. I expect the Lakers to go up 3-1 in this series tonight.
