Tyson vs Jones Jr. Undercard: Who’s Fighting, Betting Picks & More

While the main betting undercard event of the upcoming Mike Tyson & Roy Jones Jr. bout is by far Nate Robinson vs. Jake Paul, there have been a few names added to the Triller-hosted boxing event.

We take a look at the additions to the undercard, our picks to win each fight and where to watch the bouts on November 28.

Who is on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. Main Card

Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson | Cruiserweights

What hasn’t been said about this far-from-usual match-up? The overwhelming favorite seems to be Jake Paul, based on previous exhibition matches, age, a power-packing punch, and a family history of wrestling (Jake is not to be confused with Logan Paul, who had a fairly decent record while wresting in his first year [and only] year of college.

While Robinson is a fan and has been long-enamored with boxing, he’s a stranger to ring. However, he has a slew of professional boxers in his corner, offering to help him train, plus, he’s not disillusioned — Robinson knows being a professional NBA player isn’t the same as being a professional boxer, but identifying his shortcomings and working on them, will undoubtedly help him. Even professionals have areas to work on, and if Robinson can hone his strengths and hit with as much power as Paul, a win is certainly probable for the Slam-Dunk champion.

Pick: Robinson

Badou Jack vs. Blake McKernan | Light Heavyweights

Badou ‘The Ripper’ Jack (22-3-3, 13 KO) and Blake McKernan (13-0, 6 KO) will face off on November 28. Jack’s most recent match ended in a loss 99.86-78.94 points, while McKernan is coming off a 2019 win against German Perez.

Pick: Blake McKernan

Viddal Riley vs. Rashad Coulter | Cruiserweights

Rashad ‘Daywalker’ Coulter (1-0-0) may be ranked #148 out of MMA Light Heavyweights, but Viddal Riley (3-0-0) has a couple key attributes over on Coulter – age, height, and record. Although Coulter may have a more established professional fighting career, this bout could very well end up like Riley’s last — a win.

Pick: Viddal Riley

Who is on the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. Preliminary Card

Jamaine Ortiz vs. Sulaiman Segawa | Lightweights

Jamaine Ortiz (13-0-0) was set to fight against Nahir Albright (8-1-0), but with an elbow injury forcing Albright to withdraw, Sulaiman Segawa (13-2-1) will take his place against Ortiz.

Ortiz is pleased with decision, saying, “I like it. People who are better bring out the best in me… He’s upset a lot of people in their hometowns, so you know he can fight.”

This is one fight that’s hard to judge, as both opponents have fairly solid records and come into the fight with 13 wins, with Segawa coming fresh from a draw against Zhora Hamazaryan in January 2020.

Pick: Ortiz

Irvin Gonzalez Jr. vs. Edward Vasquez | Featherweights

Irvin Gonzalez (14-2-0) is set to fight against Edward ‘Kid’ Vasquez (8-0-0) in a featherweight match.

Gonzalez won his first 12 professional fights, and lost his last 2 — in his first loss, Gonzalez was fresh off a 2-week jail stint for driving under the influence, which impacted his weight and mental focus. In his next fight, he faced off against Toka Kahn Clary, an opponent he admits he wasn’t ready for. With ample time to train for this bout, he’s in a much better position to secure a win.

Meanwhile, Vasquez is known for recovoring quickly, and making incredible comebacks when you thought he was down.

In this upcoming page, Vasquez might just be the opponent Gonzalez needs to secure a fresh win.

Pick: Gonzalez

Juiseppe Cusumano vs. Nick Jones | Heavyweights

Juiseppe Cusumano (18-3-0) will face off against Nick Jones (9-3-0). While Cusumano undoubtedly has more fights under his belt, Jones has an incredible reach, and while he’s greener to the ring that Cusumano, stands a good shot at a KO.

Pick: Jones
